What We Do!
Key West Coastal Charters specializes in private boat charters on the stunning waters around Key West, Florida. Trips include customizable multi-activity charters, sandbar charters and lobster charters in season. Activities to choose from include snorkeling, eco touring, dolphin watching, sandbar hopping, lobstering, and fishing. No matter what you choose, KWCC will ensure it’s a memory you will never forget.
Activities
With over 20 years on the blue waters of the Keys, Capt. Amy has a sandbar for every occasion. Whether you want a private sandbar with not another person in sight or to swing and socialize, KWCC knows the perfect spot. Regardless of what side of Key West you are playing on for the day, there is always one accessible. With the ever popular “sandbar with the swing”, Marvin Key, Woman Key, not to mention a whole host of unnamed, less traveled sandbars, needless to say, the list is endless. Let “real” life melt away and get lost in the blue water and sunshine with some island music and white sand. NO STRESS PERMITTED!
Glide through the tranquil, crystal clear water in and around our beautiful mangrove islands. Cruise slowly looking for sharks, turtles, and a wide variety of birds. Capt. Amy has a Biology degree and two decades of experience in the keys and will spot and identify a wide range of flora and fauna while talking about the unique mangrove ecosystem and why we depend on it. After this eco-tour you will truly “know ” the keys.
Come be captivated and inspired by an up-close and personal viewing of Key West’s resident pod of wild Bottlenose dolphins. Seeing these guys never gets old, and Captain Amy has been crossing them off the bucket list for visitors for 15 years. Armed with all the dolphin facts you could want and a solid knowledge of where these amazing animals might be hanging out, Key West Coastal Charters will share this fantastic experience with you, and maybe, just maybe, a mama will share a glimpse of her baby with you too!
*Dolphins are wild and cannot be guaranteed. Swimming with and feeding marine mammals is prohibited. We abide by the Dolphin Safe viewing regulations and the Marine Mammal Protection Act of the United States.
The possibilities are endless for amazing snorkeling around Key West. A barrier reef, endless patch reefs, sponge beds, shipwrecks, and soft coral reefs are all within a few miles of the island. Key West Coastal Charters will take you to the best spots with the best visibility while keeping your requests and comfort at the forefront. There is a spot for every comfort level and age, whether you’re a worldly, seasoned snorkeler or want a place you can stand and walk-in. Your comfort and safety are top priorities. Detailed instruction and helpful tips are always provided and flotation, in the form of a vest or pool noodle, is always available. Your captain can ID most fish by description, but we throw in a fish ID card so you can check her accuracy (wink).
Nothing beats dropping a line in the water and seeing what bites! KWCC loves to “beer in one hand and rod in the other” fish. We don’t trophy fish and you’re not gonna pack a giant cooler and ship fish home but you absolutely will catch fish and the kids will too! Add a little fishing to your Combo Charter with Key West Coastal Charters and catch Snapper, Grouper, Mackerel, Grunts, Barracuda and ….who knows!! Once back at the dock, Captain Amy will fillet any edible fish, making it ready to cook, bag it on ice, and you can go to a local restaurant and experience a Hook and Cook where the restaurant cooks the fish you just caught! Either way we will have fun fishing and be able to tell great fish tales.

Are you feeling adventurous? Try your hand at catching some lobster! Captain Amy has been teaching people to catch their dinner for 15 years and has amazing, shallow spots for you to be successful. It’s so much fun and so rewarding to enjoy a hard earned dinner. Lobster gear will be provided, along with ALL the tips and tricks and in-water demo and coaching. Many local restaurants will cook your catch. You will be “hooked”!
Choose your trip
Does everyone want to do something different or maybe it’s your first time here and you want to experience everything you can! A combo charter is perfect for you. This fully customizable trip allows you to choose several activities you would like to experience, and we will plan your perfect day. Two charter lengths ensure that whether you choose one activity or all of them, you will have plenty of time to enjoy them to the fullest extent!
*Activities include snorkeling, dolphin watching, sandbars, sight seeing, sand- dollar hunting and fun, easy fishing.

Oh the sandbars! We have some of the most beautiful sandbars anywhere. Whether it’s solitude or adventure you’re seeking, KWCC has everything to make your sandbar trip the best in Key West. This sandbar trip (all lengths) is one stop and includes personal water floats, a Lily pad mat, Turtlebox speakers, properly sanitized snorkel gear, and a cooler with ice and bottled water. The 6 hour sandbar adventure will also include one kayak and a floating cooler. Do as much or little as you choose. Visit the famous sandbar swing or have a sandbar all to yourselves. This is a “bucket list” trip and it will be the best thing you do on your vacation!
People come from all over to try their hand at catching Florida Spiny Lobster. While it’s definitely a challenge, lobstering is a ridiculous amount of fun and so rewarding. If you can snorkel you can lobster! This is where KWCC really excels! Captain Amy loves to lobster and will share her 24 years of tips, tricks and spots and will give you an in water demo, as well as, lobstering with you to increase your catch! When we get back to the dock she will clean your catch and several local restaurants will cook them up and Amy will happily tell you her favoites. On the 6 hour lobster trip we can also add another activity to your day so you can work your tail off and then chill at the sandbar!

If you want to get on the water and experience one of our exciting activities but don’t have or don’t want to dedicate the better part of a day to a boat trip? The Quickie not only has a hilarious name it’s only 2.5 hours! That’s enough time to thoroughly enjoy one of our exciting activities to it’s fullest. Here in Key West, we are so lucky to be within a 20 minute boat ride of so many fun things. We have a barrier reef and many patch reefs that afford great snorkeling, many sugar white sandbars to lounge on, about 150 resident dolphin friends, mangrove islands for ecotouring and a bustling harbor to enjoy the sights and sounds of! Spend 2.5 hours with KWCC and have plenty of day left for other activities!

Do you want to see dolphins and fish or sit on a sandbar and do a little snorkeling? A combo charter is just the thing for you. Choose several activities you would like to experience, and we will plan your charter accordingly. Your charter length will determine how many activities you choose because we want you to succeed at whatever you choose. This can be discussed during booking.
The Hook and Cook is one of Key West’s coolest things to do. The Hurricane Hole (our dock) is not only home to a marina but also a fantastic bar and restaurant! If you choose to fish or lobster on your charter, I will clean and filet them upon our return, hand you a bag of deliciousness, and our restaurant will cook it up for you right then and there! You literally cannot get fresher seafood, and it feels so rewarding to enjoy all your effort immediately!
